Welcome to Modern States! This guide will help you navigate our auditor system and manage who can view your progress data. Understanding and managing your auditors is an important part of your journey towards earning college credit. Let's break it down step-by-step:
What is an auditor?
On our platform, learners can share access to their progress data with someone who is supporting them, such as a parent, teacher, mentor, or another adult. This person is known as an auditor. An auditor is someone for whom a learner's success in a Modern States course matters. They may be monitoring a learner's progress to provide encouragement, support, or tutoring.
Responding to Auditor Requests
Modern States auditor tools give learners control over who sees their progress data. When you log in, you may see a pop-up with pending "Requests to Audit You." For each request, you have three options:
- Approve: Give the auditor access to see your data
- Deny: Prevent the auditor from seeing your data
- Snooze: Postpone the decision (will reappear in 24 hours or at next login)
Important: You MUST act on each request before accessing the rest of the Modern States platform.
