Does Modern States Send CLEP Credits to My College or University?

Modified on Mon, Jun 16 at 12:03 PM

Modern States does not send your CLEP exam scores or transfer any credits to your college or university.

All CLEP scores are reported and sent directly by the College Board. During the CLEP exam registration process, you may select up to two score recipients (e.g., colleges, universities, or organizations) to receive your official exam results at no additional cost. This must be done before test day. If you do not select a score recipient prior to taking the exam, you will forfeit your complimentary score send and may be required to pay a $20 transcript fee to send scores later.

To ensure your college accepts CLEP credit and applies it to your transcript, we strongly recommend that you:

  • Check your institution’s CLEP credit policy

  • Contact your academic advisor or registrar for guidance on score minimums and applicable credits

  • Select your institution as a score recipient during CLEP registration

Modern States supports your CLEP exam preparation with free online courses and CLEP exam fee vouchers, but we do not control whether or how your college awards credit. That decision is made solely by your institution.

Additionally, Modern States vouchers do not cover any fees associated with credit transfer or transcript processing. Be sure to consult your college’s policies for any costs related to credit evaluation or posting.
