Modern States Journey: A Guide for Auditors

This comprehensive guide walks you through the process of becoming an auditor in the Modern States program, from account creation and student management to progress monitoring and targeted support, enabling you to effectively guide learners on their journey to earning free college credits through CLEP exams. 


  1. Account Creation and Setup 
    1. Create a Modern States account at https://register.modernstates.org/
    2. Request an auditor account via the provided form 
      1. Once approved as an Auditor, Setup TwoFactor Authentication (2FA)
  2. Request Auditees 
    1. Navigate to "Request Auditees" widget 
    2. Enter individual student emails or upload CSV (up to 100 emails) 
    3. Click “Submit” button to send requests to students 
  3. Manage Pending Requests 
    1. View pending requests in the dashboard 
    2. Resend or delete requests as needed 
  4. View Approved Auditees 
    1. Access list of students who have approved your auditor request 
  5. Monitor Student Progress 
    1. Use "My Students" widget to view individual learner progress 
    2. Access detailed information on grades, content viewed, quizzes, and system access 
  6. Provide Targeted Support 
    1. Identify areas where students may be struggling 
    2. Offer additional resources or explanations based on performance data
  7. Access Comprehensive Analytics Dashboard
    1. Navigate to the Analytics dashboard via the main menu
    2. View classroom-wide analytics for all approved auditees in one centralized location
    3. Monitor engagement patterns, completion rates, and performance trends across your entire student group
    4. Export data for additional analysis or reporting purposes
  8. Annual Relationship Reset 
    1. Reset of auditors yearly in an automatic review (Sept 22) 
    2. Students reapprove or decline auditor access
