CLEP Test Center Reimbursement Policy

Modern States is happy to reimburse eligible CLEP test center fees for learners who have completed one of our courses, received a Modern States CLEP voucher code, and used that voucher code to register for the CLEP exam connected to that course. To make sure your request is processed quickly and correctly, please review our policy below.

What We Cover

• The official CLEP test center fee charged at the time of your exam.
• Reimbursements are issued via check in U.S. dollars (USD) only.

What We Do Not Cover

• Modern States does not reimburse CLEP exam fees that were purchased before you received and used a Modern States voucher code.
• If you paid for your CLEP exam out of pocket before receiving a Modern States voucher code, that exam fee is not eligible for reimbursement.
• Modern States does not reimburse fees for exam subjects that are not connected to the Modern States course you completed.

Important: Please wait until your Modern States voucher request is approved and you receive your voucher code before registering for your CLEP exam through the College Board website. 

What You’ll Need

When submitting your reimbursement request, you must include:

• A valid receipt from your CLEP test center showing the amount paid and the date of purchase.
• A copy of your CLEP exam score report.
• The voucher number provided by Modern States for that exam.

Timing Matters

• Requests must be submitted within one (1) year of your exam date.
• Requests received after one year will not be processed.
• Processing typically takes approximately 8-10 weeks once all required documents are received.

How to Request Reimbursement

1.  Complete the CLEP Test Center Reimbursement Request Form. 
2. Upload your test center receipt and CLEP score report in one of the accepted file formats: JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, TIFF, or PDF. The maximum file size is 3 MB.
3. Enter the Modern States voucher number connected to the CLEP exam you took.
4. Double-check your contact and payment information for accuracy before submitting the form.

Before You Submit

• Make sure your receipt clearly shows the test center fee amount and date of purchase.
• Make sure your score report matches the CLEP exam connected to your Modern States course and voucher.
• Make sure your mailing address is correct. Reimbursements are issued by check.
