What is Credit by Exam/Credit for Prior Learning?

Credit by Exam is a way to earn college credits that are accepted by thousands of colleges and universities nationwide, and potentially save thousands of tuition dollars and many hours of time, by passing tests in lieu of taking classes. Modern States uses the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams in math, history, science and many other subjects, which are offered by The College Board.
